So, is there such a thing as "finish-itis"?

If there is, I have an advanced case. I can't never get anything finished due to not being able to stop starting.

I've been stockinetting along on "Wicked" (the teal Artyarns Supermerino) and Knitting Pure & Simple's Neck-down Hooded Tunic (in Cascade 220).

I don't hate miles and miles of stockinette--in fact, it can be quite soothing--but, it is so easy to get distracted when that's all one is about.

I ran across some Rowan Cotton Tape I bought awhile back soon after it was discontinued and could be gotten on the cheap. Another chartreuse--this one very much to the yellow side. I actually bought the "It's a Tape Thing" book when it first came out and always wanted to knit "Stevie"--a cute little collarless cardi, but just never got around to it. So, when the yarn went on sale, I picked up, well, quite a bit. Not a truckload or anything, but enough to complete 3 or 4 projects (and a couple of berets).

Still, I never did anything with it--I still don't know if I even like it! I found this slightly irritating over the weekend and announced that I was going to knit "Stevie" as fast as I could, absurdly predicting that I'd finish it by Sunday evening. Out of my mind, I was.

I finished the back and one sleeve. It'll take through this coming weekend, but it does go pretty quickly.

And look as this little trollop, tempting me to start another lace project. It's Pure Knits Bamboo Lace in "Absinthe". It's going to make a fabulous "Alpine Knit Scarf" from "Victorian Lace Today".

Soon. But, not right this minute (I can't say for sure about tomorrow, though).

I absolutely have finish-itis! Once a project is about 80% done, I practially abandon it, thinking: "well, it's almost done... no hurry!" and start something new... very bad habit!
I love all your green knits! My favorite color, and you do it so well!

Stephy, you're making some amazing pieces lately. The projects, yarns and colours are stunning.

I'm not sure how I looped around to find your blog but I am glad I did. Fun stuff. I just wrote a post for our blog last night with the same "I want to knit this" photo from Victorian Lace today. It won't post till next week since I was planning a bit for a few days out of town. I also have the leaf scarf sitting as a UFO in my living room. I keep promising to finish it but I got out of the rhythm of the pattern and so am reluctant to start again. Maybe your photo will inspire me! Thanks for the fun read.

I suffer severely from "finishitis" or perhaps its "overstartisits" too! Though most things that I make are small - I am impatient - it's amazing how many seem to get laid aside for weeks at a time whilst I start something! I love the cotton tape - what a great colouer!

Okay, where can I get cotton tape cheap? I didn't know they were discontinuing it! I made the tammy sweater (only to give away....) and a beret. I have some more to make the carla sweater.

I love your color choices! I wish I could wear that color yellow! But I look dead.
